FAQ

So, where can I drop my kid?
Well... you can't. Please note that this is NOT a bicycle club for kids. This is simply a blog to organize meetups between families who want to ride the trails and have fun together. As an adult, you are responsible for the kids who came with you. Unaccompanied minors will not be able to ride with us.

Where and when do we meet?
Every Sunday afternoon, at different location depending on the ride. Make sure that you subscribe to our mail list if you would like to ride with us. Please note that sometimes there is no cellular reception at the meetup spot, so make sure that you are visible when you get there.

What do I need to bring?
As a bare minimum, a mountain bike and a helmet for you and your kid. For extra safety, a pair of gloves and knee pads are great. Make sure that you also bring a backpack with some water, snacks, a first-aid kit and enough tools to fix a flat on the trail. If you don't have tools or a first-aid kit don't worry, just make sure that someone else in the group can back you up.

What is the age limit?
There is no age limit, but it is intended to be for 8 to 11 years old kids who can ride comfortably. A talented 6 years old may be able to keep up with the group. Older kids are welcome if they don't mind waiting.

Does the group wait for the slow ones?
Generally no. Unfortunately the skills difference between kids is so big that the group may split up. That said, the goal is to enjoy the day as a group, so people will try to regroup as much as possible. Maybe the fastest riders will do an extra loop, etc...

What kind of bike do I need?
You do not need to have a bike with suspension, but as a minimum you will need large knobby tires. Most kids bikes these days are dirt ready, make sure that yours is not a road bike with super skinny tires and you should be fine. Hybrid bikes can work but they may get beat up.
